Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 1/4 oz taco seasoning mix
  • 1 (16 oz) can refried beans
  • 1 cup Bisquick baking mix
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 cup thick salsa
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
  • sliced green chillies (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. Grease a 10 x 1 1/2-inch glass pie plate.
  3. Cook ground beef with diced onion until browned; drain excess fat.
  4. Add taco seasoning mix to the beef and mix well.
  5. In a bowl, combine refried beans, Bisquick baking mix, and water until smooth.
  6. Spread the bean mixture in the bottom and halfway up the side of the prepared pie plate.
  7. Layer cooked beef over the bean mixture.
  8. Top with sliced green chillies (if using), salsa, and shredded Cheddar cheese.
  9. Bake for 30 minutes until hot and bubbly.
  10. Serve each portion topped with chopped lettuce, chopped tomatoes, and a dollop of sour cream.
