Ingredients

  • 9 slices bread
  • 1 large can Pet milk
  • 2 Tbsp margarine
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups milk

Instructions

  1. Soak bread slices in Pet milk until fully saturated.
  2. Beat egg yolks with 1/2 cup sugar until well combined.
  3. Add milk and margarine to the egg yolk mixture and mix thoroughly.
  4. Cook the mixture until it starts to boil and thickens.
  5. Pour the cooked mixture into a buttered baking dish.
  6. Beat egg whites until soft peaks form, then gradually add 1/4 cup sugar and beat until stiff peaks form.
  7. Spread or pipe the beaten egg whites over the bread mixture.
  8. Bake in the oven until the top is golden brown.
