Ingredients

  • 7 lb. cucumbers, washed and sliced
  • 2 c. lime
  • 2 gal. water
  • 2 pt. vinegar
  • 4 lb. sugar
  • pickle spices

Instructions

  1. Add washed and sliced cucumbers to lime and water mixture and soak overnight.
  2. Pour off this water, add fresh water to cover cucumbers and soak for 3 hours.
  3. Pour off this water and pour sugar and vinegar over cucumbers.
  4. Bring to a boil and boil for 35 minutes.
  5. Add the desired amount of pickle spice, either loose or tied in a cloth.
  6. Put in warm jars and seal.
