Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. pie crust mix (2 crust pie)
  • 1 (3 oz.) pkg. soft cream cheese
  • 2 Tbsp. milk
  • 1 tsp. almond extract
  • pecan halves (optional)
  • preserves

Instructions

  1. Combine pie crust mix, cream cheese, sugar, milk and extract. Stir with a fork until mixture forms a ball.
  2. Divide in half.
  3. On a lightly floured board, roll to a 10-inch square.
  4. With a pastry wheel or knife, cut into 16 (2 1/2-inch) squares.
  5. Spoon 1/2 teaspoon preserves in center of each square.
  6. (You can place a pecan half on each one, if desired.)
  7. Moisten opposite corners with water.
  8. Bring corners up over filling; pinch tightly to seal. Arrange on cookie sheet.
  9. Bake at 350° for 10 to 12 minutes, or until golden brown.
  10. Transfer to wire rack, lightly.
  11. Makes about 32.
