Crispy fried won ton pockets filled with seasoned sausage, water chestnuts, and green onions offer a savory snack or appetizer with delightful textures and flavors that appeal to all ages.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. seasoned turkey or pork sausage
  • 8 water chestnuts, chopped
  • 4 green onions, chopped
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 package won ton wrappers

Instructions

  1. Cook the sausage until browned, then drain.
  2. Add chopped water chestnuts, chopped green onions, and beaten egg to the cooked sausage and mix well.
  3. Place a small spoonful of the filling onto each won ton wrapper and fold tightly to seal.
  4. Heat oil in a deep fryer or large skillet until hot.
  5. Fry the filled won ton wrappers in hot oil until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Remove and drain on paper towels before serving.
