Sweet-sour turkey features tender diced turkey coated in a tangy pineapple sauce with vibrant green peppers and onions, perfect for a flavorful family meal or casual dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 (No. 2) can pineapple chunks
  • 1/3 cup vinegar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 1/2 cups diced cooked turkey
  • 3/4 cup green pepper strips
  • 1/4 cup sliced onion

Instructions

  1. Drain pineapple, reserving 1 cup of juice.
  2. Combine pineapple juice, vinegar, brown sugar, cornstarch, soy sauce, and salt in a saucepan.
  3. Cook over low heat until thickened and clear, stirring constantly.
  4. Remove from heat; add diced cooked turkey to the sauce.
  5. Let stand for 10 minutes.
  6. Place green pepper strips in boiling water; let stand for 5 minutes.
  7. Drain green peppers well.
  8. Add green peppers, sliced onion, and pineapple chunks to the turkey mixture; heat through.
  9. Serve over rice.
