Ingredients

  • 3 3/4 cups warm water
  • 3 packages dry yeast
  • 6 tablespoons sugar
  • 4 to 5 teaspoons salt
  • 10 cups flour
  • 6 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 2 eggs

Instructions

  1. Mix yeast with warm water in a large bowl.
  2. Add sugar, salt, eggs, and butter; then add flour, mixing until all ingredients are well combined.
  3. Stir with a spoon until the mixture is uniform and well incorporated.
  4. Let the dough sit for 1 hour to rise.
  5. Grease and flour hands; divide the dough into 3 loaves.
  6. Place the loaves into greased pans.
  7. Cover with a towel and let sit for 40 minutes to rise again.
  8. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 40 minutes until golden brown.
