Ingredients

  • 4 Tbsp. sugar
  • 4 Tbsp. shortening
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. hot water
  • 1/4 c. lukewarm water
  • 1 pkg. dry yeast

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, measure sugar, shortening, salt, and hot water.
  2. Measure lukewarm water and add dry yeast to it.
  3. Stir until the yeast is dissolved.
  4. When the sugar and shortening mixture is lukewarm, add the yeast mixture.
  5. Gradually add flour and mix well until a soft dough forms.
  6. Allow the dough to rise until doubled in size, then shape into rolls and bake as desired.
