- In a large saucepan, heat 3 cups water to boiling over high heat, then turn the heat to low.
- Stir in the raspberry jello until just dissolved.
- Quickly stir in the softened vanilla ice cream, cutting it into small chunks to help it melt faster.
- Ensure the mixture is only lukewarm, which is very important.
- Pour the mixture into a 2-quart mold or dish.
- Chill overnight until set.
- Use a 2-quart Pyrex oblong dish for shaping the dessert.
