- Mix together 1 1/2 cups of flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
- Add softened butter to the mixture.
- Gradually add very warm water (120° to 130°F) and beat for 2 minutes at medium speed with an electric mixer.
- Add eggs and 1/2 cup of flour, then beat at high speed for 2 minutes.
- Stir in enough remaining flour to make a soft dough.
- Cover and let rise until doubled in size, about 35 minutes.
- Punch down the dough.
- Turn the dough into 2 well-greased loaf pans or a 1 1/2-quart casserole.
- Cover and let rise again for about 40 minutes.
- Bake at 375°F for 35 minutes.
