Egg Rolls

Egg rolls are a delightful Chinese snack filled with a savory mixture of vegetables and meat, wrapped in a crispy shell. Perfect for parties or as a satisfying appetizer, they offer a satisfying crunch and a burst of flavor with each bite, especially when paired with sweet and sour sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 head cabbage
  • 2 large carrots
  • 1 onion
  • 2 c. meat
  • 2 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • egg roll skins

Instructions

  1. Shred cabbage.
  2. Dice carrots and onion.
  3. Cook meat and drain grease.
  4. Add vegetables to skillet and stir-fry until crisp-tender.
  5. Mix in soy sauce.
  6. Place a heaping tablespoonful of filling in center of each egg roll skin.
  7. Fold in sides, then fold over long sides, sealing shut with cornstarch and water paste.
  8. Deep fry until golden brown.
  9. Serve with sweet and sour sauce.
