Eggnog Sticks
Ingredients
- 3 cups flour ⓘ
- 1/4 teaspoon salt ⓘ
- 2 teaspoons nutmeg ⓘ
- 1 cup butter ⓘ
- 3/4 cup sugar ⓘ
- 1 egg ⓘ
- 2 teaspoons rum or 2 teaspoons rum extract ⓘ
- 1 teaspoon vanilla (2 if extract)
- Frosting Double batch recipe unless you like lots of frosting ⓘ
- 1/3 cup softened butter ⓘ
- 2 teaspoons rum or 2 teaspoons rum extract ⓘ
Instructions
- Mix dry ingredients.
- In another bowl, cream the butter, gradually add sugar, egg, vanilla, and rum.
- Gradually add in dry ingredients until mixed.
- Shape dough into 1/2 inch diameter rolls, and cut into 2 inch lengths.
- Bake at 350° for 12-15 minutes, and promptly remove to cooling rack.
- For frosting: Mix all frosting ingredients, and frost cookies.
- To finish, top with generous dusting of nutmeg.
