Ingredients

  • 2 fryers or 1 large hen
  • 3 celery stalks
  • 3 to 5 firm apples
  • 1/2 to 3/4 cup sweet salad cubes
  • 1/2 cup dill salad cubes
  • 1/2 teaspoon celery salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 1/2 to 2 cups mayonnaise
  • salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Boil chicken until falling off the bone.
  2. Debone and deskin the chicken.
  3. Chop the chicken into 1/2-inch pieces.
  4. Peel and chop apples into 1/4 to 1/2-inch pieces.
  5. Chop celery into 1/4 to 1/2-inch pieces.
  6. Mix the chicken, apples, and celery together.
  7. Add celery salt, black pepper, salt, and mayonnaise.
  8. Mix well and serve cold on sandwiches or with crackers.
