Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 lb. cooking apples
  • 2 oz. sugar
  • 1/2 pt. water
  • 3 oz. butter or margarine
  • 3 oz. sugar
  • 2 eggs

Instructions

  1. Peel, core, and slice the apples.
  2. Put the sliced apples in a pie dish with sugar and water.
  3. Bake in a moderate oven for 10 minutes.
  4. Cream together the butter and sugar.
  5. Gradually beat in the eggs.
  6. Stir in the flour.
  7. Spread the mixture over the hot apples.
  8. Return to the oven and bake for 35 minutes.
  9. Sprinkle with sugar before serving.
