- Add Crisco to milk while the milk is still warm.
- When the milk has cooled, dissolve the yeast in lukewarm water and add it to the milk mixture.
- Add sugar, salt, beaten eggs, and sifted flour to the mixture.
- Beat the mixture well until smooth and elastic.
- Let the dough rest in a bowl for about 20 minutes.
- Knead the dough for a minute or two until smooth.
- Fill greased muffin pans two-thirds full with the dough or shape into rolls and let rise until double in size.
- Bake in a hot oven at 425°F for 20 minutes.
- Brush the rolls with butter immediately after removing from the oven.
- Makes about 36 rolls. Only one rising is necessary for this recipe.
