Ingredients

  • 16 oz. bag black beans
  • 7 or 8 sausage links, cut up
  • 6 slices dried beef, cut up
  • 6 slices bacon or salt pork, cut up
  • 6 cloves garlic
  • 1 to 2 onions, cut up

Instructions

  1. Place black beans, sausage links, dried beef, and bacon or salt pork in a soup pot.
  2. Cover with water and bring to a boil.
  3. Reduce heat and simmer for 2 hours or until beans are soft and mixture is thickened.
  4. Keep adding water as needed to prevent drying out.
