Ingredients

  • peas
  • 3 slices fried bacon
  • 1 to 2 Tbsp. cooking oil or bacon grease

Instructions

  1. Pick a good mess of peas.
  2. Get some snaps of peas.
  3. Use a mixture of about 1/2 snaps to 1/2 shelled peas.
  4. Shell and snap the peas.
  5. Wash the peas thoroughly several times, changing water each time.
  6. Remove any 'buggy' peas.
  7. Cook bacon slices until crispy.
  8. In a skillet, heat 1 to 2 tablespoons of cooking oil or bacon grease.
  9. Add the shelled and snapped peas to the skillet and cook until tender.
