Ingredients

  • 1 beef round steak, cut 1/2-inch thick
  • 3 Tbsp. flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 3 Tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 2 beef bouillon cubes
  • 1/4 c. hot water
  • 3 onions, quartered
  • 1 green pepper, cut in 1-inch squares

Instructions

  1. Cut steak into 6 pieces.
  2. Combine flour, salt and pepper. Cover meat with seasoned flour.
  3. Pound to 1/4-inch thickness. Brown in oil in large skillet.
  4. Pour off oil.
  5. Dissolve bouillon cubes in hot water.
  6. Add to meat.
  7. Add onions.
  8. Cover tightly and cook slowly 1 hour.
  9. Add green pepper and tomatoes.
  10. Cover and continue cooking slowly 25 minutes or until meat is tender. Serves 4 to 6.
