Ingredients

  • 2 sticks butter or margarine
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon butter flavor
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup vegetable shortening
  • 5 large eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon Watkins coconut flavor
  • 1 teaspoon lemon extract
  • 1 teaspoon rum flavor

Instructions

  1. Cream butter, shortening, and sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Add beaten eggs and continue mixing until the mixture is lemon-colored.
  3. Combine flour and baking powder and add to the creamed mixture alternately with milk.
  4. Stir in butter flavor, vanilla extract, coconut flavor, lemon extract, and rum flavor.
  5. Spoon the batter into a greased 10-inch tube or Bundt pan.
  6. Bake at 325°F (163°C) for 1 1/2 hours or until the cake tests done.
  7. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before turning it out.
  8. Add glaze if desired.
