Tips & Substitutions

For a creamier texture, use arborio rice instead of regular rice, and feel free to substitute some of the milk with coconut milk for a tropical twist. If you prefer a less sweet pudding, reduce the sugar by half. Adding a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg can enhance the flavor as well. If using leftover rice, reduce cooking time accordingly.

Serving Suggestions

Serve the rice pudding chilled or at room temperature, and consider garnishing with a sprinkle of cinnamon or fresh fruit like berries or sliced bananas for added freshness. This dish also pairs beautifully with Pecan Or English Walnut Pie for a comforting dessert spread.

Storage & Reheating

Store any leftover rice pudding in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. When reheating, add a splash of milk to restore creaminess and heat gently on the stove or in the microwave, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.

How can I make this pudding thicker?

If you prefer a thicker rice pudding, you can increase the amount of flour or cook it a bit longer on low heat. Adding a cornstarch slurry (cornstarch mixed with a little cold water) can also help thicken the pudding.

What can I add for additional flavor?

You can enhance the flavor by adding citrus zest, such as lemon or orange, or incorporating spices like cardamom or cloves. Nuts, raisins, or chocolate chips can also add texture and depth to the pudding.
