Ingredients

  • 2 egg whites
  • dash of salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 6 ounces semi-sweet chocolate morsels
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Beat egg whites at high speed until foamy; add salt.
  3. Gradually add sugar, 1 tablespoon at a time, beating until stiff peaks form.
  4. Fold in vanilla extract, chocolate morsels, and chopped pecans into the beaten egg whites.
  5. Drop teaspoonfuls of the mixture onto aluminum foil-lined cookie sheets.
  6. Place in the oven and immediately turn off the heat.
  7. Do not open the oven door for at least 8 hours.
  8. Carefully remove the cookies from the aluminum foil.
