Instructions
- Follow the directions on the German chocolate cake mix to prepare the layers. Bake in 8 or 9-inch pans and let cool.
- Slice each cake layer in half horizontally to create four layers.
- Mix powdered sugar, sour cream, coconut, vanilla, and Cool Whip to make the filling.
- Spread the filling between the layers, on the top, and on the sides of the cake.
- Place the assembled cake in an airtight container.
- Refrigerate the cake for four days.
- Do not open the refrigerator or peek at the cake during this time.
