Ingredients

  • 1 box German chocolate cake mix
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1.5 cups coconut
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions

  1. Follow the directions on the German chocolate cake mix to prepare the layers. Bake in 8 or 9-inch pans and let cool.
  2. Slice each cake layer in half horizontally to create four layers.
  3. Mix powdered sugar, sour cream, coconut, vanilla, and Cool Whip to make the filling.
  4. Spread the filling between the layers, on the top, and on the sides of the cake.
  5. Place the assembled cake in an airtight container.
  6. Refrigerate the cake for four days.
  7. Do not open the refrigerator or peek at the cake during this time.
