Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 6 eggs
  • 2 3/4 cups sugar
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon lemon extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup sour cream

Instructions

  1. Grease and flour a 10-inch tube pan.
  2. Beat butter until creamy; gradually add sugar, and beat until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. Beat for 2 more minutes.
  5. Combine flour, salt, and baking soda.
  6. Add to the creamed mixture alternately with sour cream, beginning and ending with flour mixture.
  7. Beat well; add lemon extract and vanilla extract.
  8. Beat until blended.
  9. Pour the batter into the prepared tube pan.
  10. Bake at 350°F for 1 1/2 hours.
  11. Cool in the pan for 15 minutes on a rack.
  12. Remove from pan; dust with confectioners' sugar when cool.
