Ingredients

  • 1 pkg. yeast
  • 3 c. flour
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 c. hot water (less 1 Tbsp.)
  • 2 stiffly beaten egg whites

Instructions

  1. Whip the egg whites until stiff and set aside.
  2. Put the ingredients in the bread machine in the order required by your machine.
  3. Start the machine; after all ingredients are mixed, stop the machine and add the beaten egg whites.
  4. When the dough is ready to form into a loaf, let it rest for 30 minutes.
  5. Sprinkle or mist the loaf with water and cut slits in the top.
  6. Bake at 400° for 30 to 35 minutes.
