Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup plus 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 medium apples
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions

  1. Sift together the flour, baking soda, salt, sugar, and cinnamon into a bowl.
  2. Cream the shortening, then add eggs and mix well.
