Ingredients

  • 1 c. Crisco oil
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 3 c. sliced apples, peeled
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 1/2 c. self-rising flour
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. cake spice
  • 1 c. chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Mix Crisco, sugar, eggs, self-rising flour, and vanilla until well combined.
  2. Add sliced apples and chopped nuts to the batter and fold in.
  3. Spread the stiff batter evenly into a spray-coated 9 x 13-inch pan.
  4. Bake in a preheated oven at 300°F (150°C) for 1 hour and 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
