Crisp, tangy dill pickles with fresh garlic and herbs, perfect as a snack or condiment for those who enjoy homemade preserved vegetables.

Ingredients

  • 1 basket pickles
  • dill
  • 2 qt. water
  • 1/3 c. kosher salt
  • 1 c. white vinegar

Instructions

  1. Wash the pickles thoroughly.
  2. Place a layer of dill at the bottom of the jar, then add a layer of pickles; repeat the layering process.
  3. Add 2 to 3 garlic cloves into the jar.
  4. Bring 2 quarts of water, kosher salt, and white vinegar to a boil and cook for a few minutes.
  5. Pour the hot brine over the pickles in the jar and cover with a white cloth.
  6. Place the jar in a cool spot and let it stand for 7 days.
  7. After curing, put the pickles in a closed jar and refrigerate.
