Ingredients

  • 1 c. water
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1/2 to 1 c. crushed berries
  • 1 tsp. vinegar

Instructions

  1. Dissolve water, sugar, and cornstarch in a saucepan, stirring until smooth.
  2. Blend the mixture together and add crushed berries.
  3. Heat the mixture slowly until just warm.
  4. Add 1 teaspoon of vinegar and continue heating until the mixture thickens and turns clear.
  5. Place fresh berries in a baked pie shell.
  6. Pour the warm glaze over the berries.
  7. Top with a meringue and brown quickly, or cover with whipped cream or other whipped topping.
