Ingredients

  • 3 c. Bisquick baking mix
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 c. milk
  • 3/4 tsp. anise extract
  • 3/4 c. coarsely chopped walnuts or pecans
  • 1/2 c. mixed candied fruit

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 350°.
  2. Blend baking mix, sugar, eggs, and milk in a large mixer bowl on low speed for 1/2 minute, scraping the bowl frequently.
  3. Beat for 3 minutes on medium speed.
  4. Stir in remaining ingredients.
  5. Pour batter into a greased and floured loaf pan (9 x 5 x 3-inch).
  6. Bake for 50 to 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  7. Cool for 10 minutes, then remove from the pan.
  8. Cool thoroughly before serving.
