Ingredients

  • 4 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 3/4 c. shortening
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. vinegar
  • 1/2 c. water

Instructions

  1. Mix together the flour, shortening, sugar, and salt with a fork or pastry blender until thoroughly mixed.
  2. In a small bowl, beat the vinegar and water together.
  3. Combine the two mixtures, stirring with a fork until all is moist.
  4. With your hands, mold the dough into balls.
  5. Chill the dough for at least 15 minutes before using.
  6. The dough can be kept in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or wrapped tightly in Saran Wrap and frozen until ready to use.
