Ingredients

  • 8 oz. cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup butter
  • 2 cups flour
  • fruit preserves (apricot, raspberry, or other)
  • confectioners sugar

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, cut cream cheese and butter into flour until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  2. Mix until it forms a smooth ball.
  3. Chill the dough for about 30 minutes.
  4. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Roll dough out onto wax paper to about 1/8 to 1/4-inch thickness.
  6. Cut the dough into 3-inch squares.
  7. Place 1 teaspoon of fruit preserves slightly off-center on each square.
  8. Fold the dough over the preserves to form a triangle, leaving the top flap not quite to the edge.
  9. Roll the dough towards the point and smooth the shape.
  10. Seal the edges to enclose the preserves.
  11. Bend the ends of the rolled dough to create a crescent shape.
