A hearty baked casserole combining seasoned ground beef with layered potatoes, carrots, peas, and corn, all topped with tomatoes and a hint of butter. This comforting dish offers a balanced mix of savory flavors and vegetables, perfect for family dinners or casual gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. hamburger meat
  • 4 or 5 potatoes
  • 2 or 3 carrots
  • small can English peas
  • small can corn
  • 2 Tbsp. oleo
  • 1 large can tomatoes
  • 1 small can tomato sauce

Instructions

  1. Fry the hamburger meat and drain excess fat.
  2. Layer peeled and sliced potatoes, peeled and sliced carrots, drained English peas, and drained corn in a large baking dish.
  3. Add the cooked meat on top of the layered vegetables.
  4. Place small pieces of oleo (butter) on top of the meat.
  5. Pour the canned tomatoes and tomato sauce over the entire casserole without stirring.
  6. Cover the dish and bake in a 350°F oven for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
