Ingredients

  • 1 cup coconut
  • 1 cup pecans
  • 1 box German chocolate cake mix
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 1 (8 oz.) cream cheese
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions

  1. Grease and flour a 9 x 13-inch baking pan.
  2. Mix the German chocolate cake mix according to the package directions, substituting milk for water.
  3. Sprinkle coconut and pecans evenly in the prepared pan.
  4. Pour the prepared cake batter over the coconut and pecans in the pan.
  5. Melt the cream cheese and margarine together until smooth.
  6. Add powdered sugar and vanilla to the melted mixture.
  7. Mix well until smooth and easy to pour.
  8. Pour the cream cheese mixture over the cake batter in the pan.
  9. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 40 to 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
