Ingredients

  • 1 cup shredded coconut
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 box German chocolate cake mix
  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 1 (8 oz.) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 box confectioners sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Combine shredded coconut and chopped pecans and spread in the bottom of a greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
  3. Prepare the German chocolate cake mix according to package directions.
  4. Carefully pour the cake batter over the coconut and pecan mixture.
  5. In a saucepan, heat the margarine and softened cream cheese until melted.
  6. Stir in the confectioners sugar.
  7. Spoon the cream cheese mixture over the cake batter.
  8. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes.
  9. Allow the cake to cool before cutting.
