Instructions
- Dissolve the yeast in a little warm water with a teaspoon of sugar.
- Place the sugar, chillies, the thin rind of the lemons, and lemon juice in a large pan.
- Pour over the 3 quarts of boiling water.
- Add the cold water when all the sugar has dissolved.
- Add the yeast mixture to the pan.
- Allow to stand for 24 hours.
