- Combine sugar, water, and Karo syrup in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
- Increase heat to high and insert a candy thermometer. Bring to a boil without stirring until the temperature reaches 310°F.
- Remove from heat and do not stir.
- Watch closely to prevent boiling over.
- Once the desired temperature is reached, remove from heat and add flavoring and coloring.
- Pour the mixture into a shallow flat pan.
- Allow to cool completely, preferably overnight.
- Break into bite-sized pieces and toss with powdered sugar.
