Ingredients

  • 7 c. gluten flour
  • 2 to 2 1/2 c. water
  • 2 rounded tsp. salt
  • 1 or 2 bay leaves
  • 1/2 tsp. Savita
  • celery leaves
  • onion
  • soy sauce
  • garlic clove

Instructions

  1. Lentils need no soaking.
  2. Bring to a boil 3 cups of salted water and slowly add 1 cup dry lentils so as to not disturb boiling point.
  3. Cover and reduce heat to simmer.
  4. Cook for 1 to 1 1/2 hours until done.
  5. If cooked lentils need to be drained, save the liquid to serve as a base for soup, gravy or stew.
  6. One cup dry lentils yields 2 cups cooked.
