Golden Rice

Ingredients

  • 1/4 c. margarine
  • 3/4 c. onion
  • 1 1/2 c. rice
  • 1/2 tsp. turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp. thyme
  • 2 1/2 c. chicken broth
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Chop and brown onion.
  2. Add rice and margarine.
  3. Stir until rice starts to brown.
  4. Add spices.
  5. Put in pot; add chicken broth. Bring to a boil; reduce heat to simmer.
  6. Cook until done, about 20 to 25 minutes.
  7. Also great with cooked chicken added before it comes to a boil.
