- Prepare the cake mix according to the package directions and bake in a 9 x 13-inch pan.
- While the cake is baking, boil the crushed pineapple and sugar together.
- Puncture the baked cake with a fork and pour the hot pineapple mixture over it. Let the cake cool completely.
- Prepare the pudding mix according to the package directions.
- Spread the prepared pudding over the cooled cake.
- Once the pudding layer is set and the cake is completely cooled, spread the Cool Whip evenly on top.
- Sprinkle the shredded coconut and nuts over the Cool Whip.
- Refrigerate the cake for at least 2 to 3 days for best flavor.
