Ingredients

  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1 large can crushed pineapple
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 package instant vanilla or pineapple pudding mix
  • 12 ounces Cool Whip
  • 12 ounces frozen coconut

Instructions

  1. Prepare the cake mix according to the package directions and bake in a 9 x 13-inch pan.
  2. While the cake is baking, boil the crushed pineapple and sugar together.
  3. Puncture the baked cake with a fork and pour the hot pineapple mixture over it. Let the cake cool completely.
  4. Prepare the pudding mix according to the package directions.
  5. Spread the prepared pudding over the cooled cake.
  6. Once the pudding layer is set and the cake is completely cooled, spread the Cool Whip evenly on top.
  7. Sprinkle the shredded coconut and nuts over the Cool Whip.
  8. Refrigerate the cake for at least 2 to 3 days for best flavor.
