Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 2 tablespoons cold water

Instructions

  1. Stir flour and salt together.
  2. Pour water and oil into the flour mixture and blend lightly with a fork.
  3. Form the mixture into a ball.
  4. Roll out between two pieces of wax paper.
  5. Refrigerate for a few minutes.
  6. Peel off the top piece of wax paper.
  7. Fit the dough, paper side up, into an 8 or 9-inch pie plate.
  8. Remove the paper.
  9. Cut off excess pastry.
  10. Flute the edges.
  11. Bake in a 450° oven for 7 to 10 minutes or until golden brown.
  12. May also fill with a filling and then bake.
