Gram'S Cheese Straws

Instructions
- Mix grated Cheddar cheese, softened butter, and salt (if used) together in a bowl.
- Add flour gradually, working in enough to form a stiff dough using your hands.
- Roll out the dough on a floured board to about 3/8-inch thickness.
- Using a sharp knife, cut the dough into strips approximately 3/8 x 4 inches.
- Sprinkle the strips with red pepper.
- Place on a very lightly greased baking sheet and bake at 350°F until slightly brown, about 12 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and let cool. Store in an airtight container.
