Grandma's Eggnog is a rich, creamy holiday classic featuring fluffy whipped cream, warm spices, and a splash of brandy, perfect for festive gatherings and cozy celebrations.

Ingredients

  • 13 eggs, room temperature
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups whipping cream, whipped
  • 1 1/2 cups brandy, rum or bourbon
  • fresh nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Separate the eggs into two large mixing bowls.
  2. Add 6 tablespoons of sugar to each bowl.
  3. Beat the egg yolks and sugar until thick and deep yellow in color.
  4. Add the brandy, rum, or bourbon to the yolk mixture and stir well.
  5. In the other bowl, beat the egg whites and sugar until stiff, but not dry.
  6. Fold the beaten egg whites into the yolk mixture gently.
  7. Fold in the whipped cream carefully.
  8. Spoon the eggnog into punch cups.
  9. Lightly sprinkle the top of each serving with fresh nutmeg.
