Granny Casserole

Ingredients

  • 1 (1 lb.) pkg. wide egg noodles, cooked
  • 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
  • 1 (8 oz.) carton sour cream
  • 1 (16 oz.) carton cottage cheese
  • 1 Tbsp. green pepper
  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 2 lb. ground beef
  • 2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
  • grated Parmesan cheese
  • 4 oz. Mozzarella cheese (optional topping from Peggy)

Instructions

  1. Mix cheeses, sour cream, pepper and onion using mixer while noodles are cooking.
  2. Brown ground beef; drain.
  3. Add tomato sauce. Cook about 8 minutes until not watery.
  4. Butter 2 medium casseroles or 1 large deep casserole.
  5. Put noodles in bottom; cheese layer next; use all (sauce mixture on top).
  6. May sprinkle Parmesan cheese or Mozzarella cheese on top of all.
  7. Bake at 350° about 30 to 40 minutes.
