- Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water.
- Sprinkle a little sugar over yeast and let it activate.
- Combine scalded milk, sugar, oil, and salt in a mixing bowl.
- Add the yeast mixture to the milk mixture and mix well.
- Gradually add flour until the dough becomes too thick to mix with a beater.
- Turn the dough onto a well-floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes.
- Form the dough into a round ball and place in a well-oiled bowl.
- Cover and let it rise for 1 to 1 1/2 hours until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough and knead 2 to 3 times.
- Form the dough into rolls and place on a baking sheet.
- Allow the rolls to rise again until doubled in size.
- Bake at 400°F (200°C) until golden brown, about 15 minutes.
