Ingredients

  • 1 pie crust
  • 5 to 5 1/2 cups Concord grapes
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 pat margarine

Instructions

  1. Pop the middle out of the grape skins and save the skins.
  2. Put the pulp (middles) in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
  3. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Put the hot pulp through a colander or food mill to remove seeds.
  5. Combine the strained pulp with the skins.
  6. Add sugar, flour, and salt to the mixture.
  7. Pour the filling into an unbaked pie crust.
  8. Dot the filling with margarine.
  9. Add the top crust with slits, lattice, or circular cutouts on top of the pie.
  10. Bake at 425°F for 35 to 45 minutes.
