Ingredients

  • 1 cup oleo
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 tablespoons baking powder
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla

Instructions

  1. Cream the oleo (butter or margarine) until smooth.
  2. Combine the dry ingredients: sugar, flour, and baking powder.
  3. Take out 3/4 cup of the dry mixture for the topping.
  4. Add vanilla and eggs to the creamed mixture and mix well into the pan.
  5. Sprinkle the reserved 3/4 cup of dry mixture over the batter as topping.
  6. Bake at 325°F (160°C) for 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
