Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter or margarine
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons yeast
  • 1 cup warm water

Instructions

  1. Combine flour, salt, and sugar in a mixing bowl.
  2. Add melted butter or margarine to the dry ingredients.
  3. Activate yeast in warm water until frothy, then add to the mixture.
  4. Mix until a dough forms, then knead until smooth.
  5. Let the dough rise for about 20 minutes or until doubled in size.
  6. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  7. Shape the dough into a large circle or two smaller ones on a baking sheet.
  8. Bake the crust for 10 minutes before adding toppings.
  9. Add desired toppings and bake until cheese is bubbly and crust is golden.
