Ingredients

  • 1 finger fresh ginger root
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 6 ripe guavas
  • 3/4 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup pineapple juice
  • 3 cups medium strength tea

Instructions

  1. Peel and chop the ginger root.
  2. Boil the chopped ginger with 1/2 cup water until a strong ginger flavor develops.
  3. Cool the ginger infusion and strain through a cloth, squeezing out the ginger.
  4. Bring 1 cup water to a boil with sugar until dissolved to make ginger syrup.
  5. Add the tea and ginger water to the syrup and mix well.
  6. Cut the guavas and press them through a sieve to extract juice.
  7. Add the guava juice to the cooled ginger tea mixture.
  8. Combine all the fruit juices: orange, lemon, and pineapple.
  9. Mix everything thoroughly and serve over ice.
