Ingredients

  • 5 lb canned ham
  • 15 1/4 oz can Del Monte sliced pineapple in juice
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Bake the ham on a rack in a roasting pan at 350°F for 1 1/2 hours or until the thermometer registers 140°F.
  2. Blend the juice from the pineapple can with sugar, soy sauce, ground ginger, and cornstarch in a saucepan.
  3. Cook the mixture, stirring constantly, until thickened.
  4. Twist the pineapple slices and arrange them on the ham.
  5. Brush the sauce over the pineapple and ham.
  6. Bake for an additional 30 minutes, brushing with the remaining sauce after 15 minutes.
