Ingredients

  • 2 lb. hamburger
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 2 c. crushed potato chips
  • 1 medium package shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 5 to 7 potatoes

Instructions

  1. Brown the hamburger, then drain excess fat.
  2. Place a layer of cooked hamburger at the bottom of the casserole dish.
  3. Add a layer of sliced potatoes over the hamburger.
  4. Sprinkle crushed potato chips on top of the potatoes.
  5. Spread shredded Cheddar cheese over the chips.
  6. Repeat the layering process: hamburger, potatoes, chips, cheese, until ingredients are used up.
  7. Dilute the can of cream of mushroom soup according to the instructions on the can.
  8. Pour the diluted soup over the layered casserole, poking holes through the top to allow the soup to seep down.
  9. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 45 minutes or until bubbly and golden.
